Tim Burgess served as mayor of the city of Seattle in 2017. Bruce Harrell was first appointed mayor of the city of Seattle after Edward Murray left office in September 2017. Tim Burgess was then appointed mayor by the Seattle City Council to serve the remainder of the mayoral term after Harrell declined in order to continue serving on Council.
Mayor Tim Burgess, King County Executive Dow Constantine and representatives from the Community Package Coalition (CPC) and Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) today announced an agreement on terms for WSCC to provide more than $82 million towards a suite of benefits for the community. This partnership moves the Convention Center Addition project - and the creation of new convention space - closer to reality.
