Most banks keep close watch on interest rates and deposits, but one bank’s primary interest is donations, of furniture. The Furniture Repair Bank accepts worn or damaged items, and a group of dedicated volunteers restore, repair, and reupholster the pieces. Next, the bank locates people in need. Many are refugees or those emerging from homelessness. When the restored furnishings are delivered to their new homes, this gift of dignity, generosity, and comfort can be lifechanging.
