Krampus Seattle is a group that brings festive frights to the Seattle area during the Christmas season. Rooted in centuries-old Alpine folklore from Austria, Krampus is the dark counterpart to Saint Nicholas, punishing the naughty while the good are rewarded. Traditionally celebrated in Krampusläufe, or Krampus runs, participants wear hand-carved masks and fur costumes to keep the legend alive and ensure everyone behaves during the holidays.
