2/22/202329:30
He rose from poverty to become Pacific Northwest Ballet’s first Black principal dancer. Jonathan Batista’s growing prominence in the world of ballet speaks to PNB’s commitment to diversity. Robert Nellams has guided the Seattle Center to new heights over the past 16 years. Now he’s calling it a career after 40 years as a city employee. And, for four decades, Assunta Ng’s Northwest Asian Weekly and Seattle Chinese Post have provided a voice to the Chinatown-International District. Now, big changes are ahead. Host Enrique Cerna has these stories from Pike Place Market, where we’re observing Black History Month by sharing the stories of three owners of Black-owned businesses.
